The Genesis of ALVATIAS

THE GENESIS OF ALVATIAS

ALVATIAS Didn’t
Begin With
A Business Plan.

It started with a joke.

A joke that took years to prove.

the genesis

Around 2019 , during a conversation with Wono, I said:

“One day we should start a company that specialises in cleaning up other people’s mess.”

Go in.

Fix what needs fixing.

Make it clean.

Make it strong.

Leave.

We laughed.

Then went back to work.

At that time, there was no company.

There wasn’t even a plan.

THE FIRST TEST

One Success Was Still
Only One Success.

The joke stayed a joke.

One successful turnaround could simply be luck.

I wasn’t looking for proof that I was right.

I was looking for proof it could happen again.

So I carried on doing what I had always done.

Different company.

Different team.

Different situation.

Then came a company.

The freight forwarding business had been struggling for years.

There was work to do.

A lot of it.

No magic formula.

No shortcuts.

Just understanding what was happening.

Designing solutions.

Making decisions.

Fixing one issue at a time.

Slowly…

The conversations changed.

The confidence changed.

The business changed.

When I first joined, it was a freight forwarding division.

When I left, it had become an independent country organisation.

People would have called that success.

But

Maybe I had the right team.

Maybe the timing was right.

Maybe I just got lucky.

I needed another chance.

THE SECOND TEST

Maybe It Wasn't
Luck After All.

Another opportunity came.

Another company.

Another team.

Another set of expectations.

Different people.

Different customers.

Different culture.

Everything looked different.

Yet somehow…

I found myself doing the same things.

Understand what was really happening.

Decide what needed to be decided.

Fix one thing.

Then the next.

One decision at a time.

Slowly…

Things started moving.

The business started changing.

People started owning their responsibilities.

Maybe the first one wasn’t luck after all.

Still…

Two successful turnarounds could still be luck.

I needed one more.

THE THIRD TEST

This Time,
It Felt Different.

Another company.

Another team.

Another business under pressure.

I said to Dayah,

“If we can make it work again… maybe our method is workable.”

Then we got to work.

This time…

I wasn’t starting from scratch.

I knew where to look.

I knew what needed to be solved first.

I knew what came first.

The work was still hard.

Every business was different.

The way I approached them was not.

One decision.

Then the next.

One improvement.

Then another.

Slowly…

The business started changing.

People started taking ownership.

Customers started coming back.

For the third time, I watched a business find its footing again.

It was no longer a coincidence.

THE DECISION

A Name.

Three companies.

Three different journeys.

One way of thinking.

Time to give it a name.

ALVATIAS.
